AVIRO was founded in Aotearoa, New Zealand with a mission to create innovative everyday garments that help prevent the spread of dangerous germs through textile surfaces.

Committed to offering effective and safe products to consumers, AVIRO is a family owned business with years of experience both in the clothing industry and with working in healthcare. The secret ingredient in AVIRO garments is HeiQ Viroblock - a new Swiss developed technology designed to inhibit the presence and growth of bacteria and enveloped viruses, such as coronavirus and influenza.

JAMIE HUNT, THE FOUNDER
Jamie has over 20 years experience in the clothing and textile industry. As the co-founder of global sports brand 2XU, Jamie is known for his uncompromising focus on product testing and performance. He has a deep knowledge of technical fabrics and is passionate about creating authentic and purposeful garments.

Jamie’s daughter is a healthcare worker on the front line. Knowing that clothing can be a large surface for pathogens, at the end of her shift she would enter through the backdoor, put her clothes straight into the wash and then get in the shower. Jamie realised there was a need for everyday garments that could help reduce the risk of viruses and bacteria spreading, or hitching a ride home on your clothing. So he took his expertise in technical fabric and partnered with Swiss company HeiQ, to develop AVIRO.

FAQ

What measures have AVIRO taken internally to reduce the spread of COVID-19?

We are taking strict measures to keep both you and our distribution team safe when sending out orders. Here are some of the steps we have in place to protect our community and yours:



- Firstly, our team is wearing AVIRO clothing and masks while working.
- All surfaces are regularly wiped down with disinfectant.
- Hands are washed regularly.
- We’ve reduced our courier pick-ups to once per day.

Are AVIRO garments/ face masks washable?

We recommend washing after approximately 20 hours of use or if it gets visibly dirty. Wash in gentle wash in laundry bag in 30℃ and below. Light detergent & no fabric softener. Offering a sustainable alternative to single use face masks.

Can I wash my garments/ face masks more than 15 times?

The fabric and construction of the mask is highly durable and should last more than 15 washes (300 hours of wear). 

Can I wash my AVIRO clothes with my other clothing?

Yes

How does HeiQ Viroblock work?

Did you know textiles and clothing can provide a large hosting surface for viruses and bacteria? Treating fabric with HeiQ Viroblock creates a protective antiviral and antibacterial layer. This protective layer attracts pathogens and targets the membrane or coating surrounding the pathogen. The pathogen is exposed and deactivated, reducing the risk of contamination or re-transmission.

Is the HeiQ Viroblock treatment safe on skin?

Yes. HeiQ Viroblock has been dermatologically tested and is harmless to skin.

Our products are currently only available online on our website.

Are your garments true to size?

Before you purchase, we recommend you check our size chart against your measurements. You can find our size guide on our product pages under each garment.



Our garments are true to size with a flattering shape. But if you are tossing up between two sizes, we would recommend you choose the larger size. 

I have a promo code, how do I use it?

You can enter your promo code as you are going through the checkout. 

I forgot to use my promo code, can I still apply it?

Can I buy AVIRO in larger quantities?

How long will it take to process and dispatch my order?

Which couriers do you use?

We use a number of postal carriers depending on the shipping destination including DHL Express and New Zealand Post.

Covid-19 shipping update: our postal provider may be experiencing delays as a result of the global impact of Covid-19. This means your parcel may take longer to reach you than normal. Do you ship to rural addresses?

Yes, we do ship to rural addresses.

What happens if my parcel hasn’t arrived?

If you believe your parcel has been lost, please contact our courier provider by checking your confirmation email for tracking details.



AVIRO does not take responsibility for late arrivals. Postal delays are out of our control. Refunds or cancellations will not be allowed if the shipment arrival times exceed the estimated times outlined on our Shipping Information page.

What is your returns policy?

Full price item(s) are valid for return within 30 days of purchase if they are in their original condition, unworn, unsoiled, unwashed and in their original packaging with tags still attached. Please visit our Returns Policy page for further information on returns and refunds.

If I receive a damaged item what can I do about it?

We take quality control seriously but if for some reason you think a faulty product has sneakily slipped under our radar, please contact us support@avirowear.com within 30 days so we can sort it out.

Will I be charged for customs and import duties?

We only prepay all customs and import duties for delivery to New Zealand & Australia.
